Therapeutic Life Story Work

Teresa is trained to deliver Therapeutic Life Story Work which is a way of helping a child to develop a coherent narrative and integrate their past into the present, which in turn will help them to be ready to move into the future.   Play Therapy alongside Therapeutic Life Story Work creates a secure base  looked-after or adopted children to begin to explore their past, present, and future, which supports them to internalise a positive sense of self.

Play Therapy is based upon the fact that play is the child's natural medium of self-expression. It is an opportunity which is given to the child to 'play out' his feelings and problems just as, in certain types of adult therapy, an individual 'talks out' his difficulties.
